Welcome to Rusthall Community Arts

Rusthall Community Arts run a village festival every two years, and produce cultural activities through the alternate year often themed to the upcoming festival year. We promote other cultural groups and activities in the arae such as the Rusthall Community Cinema, a legacy of the 2017 Festival. Past events and activities have included commemoration of the end of WW1 by illustrating Clive Roberts Book ‘Rusthall’s Fallen with large silhouette images in the shop windows along the High Street along with transparent 'There but Not There' Soldiers in St Paul's Church. We worked in partnership with Claque Theatre on a devised community play for our 2019 Festival. Legend of The Rock, which was a highly visual piece of theatre performed in front of Toad Rock. It was Claque's first fully devised play and marked their 40th anniversary. We stopped social activities in March 2020 due to the Covid pandemic but have continued on line weekly improvisation workshops led by Rusthall' Claqueur Impro Theatre and Empty Gallery Cafe conversation covering a wide range of subjects. On 14th January 2021 we launched a range of activities working towards devising a second community play, which is now in rehearsal. Happy Highways is a theatrical walk in Happy Valley from August 25th-30th. Let's get creative and make something magical.
